Language of Film: Visual & Sound Techniques

This term we are doing film study. Before watching the film we have to be able to understand the language of film. On the first activity i made a crossword. We are learning about the language of film and what the different words mean. This shows my learning because i have to be able to understand the language to write their definition.  

Matariki

While doing this project I learnt more about matariki. The star Matariki is the mother, surrounded by her six daughters, Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waipuna Rangi, Waitī and Waitā, and Ururangi.

Matariki - The eyes of god

Tupu-ā-rangi - Food from the sky

Waipunarangi -  Star that is associated with rain

Waitī - Water, lakes, rivers,

Tupu-ā-nuku - Food from the ground

Ururangi - Nature of wind

Waitā - Food from the sea
