Children of Blood and Bone

Why do people choose to get revenge instead of forgiveness? In the book of Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, a memorable idea is revenge is an endless cycle. This idea is shown in chapter 80, chapter 70, and chapter 63.

An important idea from the book is that revenge is never the answer. This is shown in chapter 80 when Zelie realises that the blackest part of her rage finally has the power it’s always craved, the chance to avenge Mama. Now Baba. I’ll take these shadows of death and end them. Each and every one. No, Baba’s voice rings in her head, steady and strong. Revenge is meaningless. There’s still time to make this right. This made Zelie felt that she once again has let down her responsibility to protect her family members. This can be linked to the movie Avatar: The Last Air Bender when Aang said: “Now I know you understand how easy it is to hurt people you love.”

The same idea is also shown in chapter 75. When Zelie was to talking to Roën and said: “I could skin Saran alive and I still wouldn’t have my revenge.” I shrug off his hand. “It’s not about him. It’s not even about me. If I don’t stop him tomorrow, he’ll destroy my people like he destroyed me.” They both know that violence can be physically and emotionally weakening but she used her desire to get revenge as her motivation. But now her desire is to stop Saran from hurting others, rather than getting revenge specifically to those who have hurt her.

Another scene that fits in this topic is chapter 63. When Inan tells Zelie they had no choice and had to massacre the Maji. Inan says “I thought things could be different. I wanted them to be different. But after what we just saw, we have no choice. We can’t give people that kind of power.” “There’s always a choice” Zelie hiss. Revenge isn’t the only thing that you can do, there's always another choice.

An important idea is revenge is an endless cycle. I think that people choose to get revenge is because they think that it is their only choice. The last three paragraphs have shown us that revenge isn't your only choice. It showed that you can choose to forgive people despite of the bad that they have done.

How to Make a Digital Drill Gauge

In metal tech, we are given the task to make a digital Drill Gauge using tinkercad. I will be showing you how to make a drill gauge.

Ho to make the base. To create the base there are different shapes on the right side of your screen, click the shape that you want to use and put the size that you want.

Now that you have picked the shape that you want to use it should look like this.

Now that you have your base you want to put holes in it. To do that you have to pick the cylinder that looks like this.

Once you have done that, you have to put the cylinder on the base of your work and make them the size that you need. The size of the drill gauge that I made are 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.8, 8, and 10. It should look something like this.

To make the cylinders an actual hole you have to first highlight everything and after you have done that you have to group them together. The group button looks like this.

Once you've done that it should look like this.

If you want to add your mane in it just click on the one that says TEXT in it.

Once you have done that. There's a box on the side where you can type your mane in it.

If you want to add the size of the hole in it you just do the same thing that you did with your name.

If you want your name to become a hole you do the same thing as the cylinder. Click the one that says hole in it and group them together.

Once you'redone it should look like this.

Emperor Penguin

Emperor penguins inhabit only Antarctica. They are flightless birds that spend the majority of their lives in the ocean.

They are the largest penguin in Antarctica. Adult Emperor penguin is about 1.1 - 1.3 m tall and weight from 22 to 45kg. They have a blackish-blue body with white chest and belly.  Diving deeper than any bird; often they can reach 213 - 550m underwater and can hold their breaths for up to 22 minutes.

Their diet consists of fish, squid, shrimp, crab and lobster. Their mouths have lines of spines that point down their throats. This helps the food stay in their mouth when they catch food. This is extremely helpful when they catch small foods. They often catch the prey under ice floes.

Emperor Penguins are very social animals, living and feeding in large groups. They create small colonies on pack ice along the coast of Antarctica. Emperor Penguins remain with one mate during the breeding season, most of the time they don't pair with the same mate again in the next season. Their breeding cycle begins in autumn and continues throughout winter which makes them the only penguin in Antarctica that breed during the winter. Female lays one egg and pass it to the male. The egg stays with the male until the chick hatches.

Digital Drill Gauge

This is the digital drill gauge that I made. I made it by using a cylinder base and put holes in it. The size of the holes is 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.8, 8, and 10mm. The sizes of the drill are the ones that we used on the one that we made using metal.

Corrosion

What are you investigating?
To investigate the factors that cause rust in iron

What do you think will happen?
I think that the nail with the nail polish, calcium chloride and oil will prevent corrosion. I think that the Saltwater, water and magnesium will cause corrosion.

What is corrosion?
When metals are exposed to the environment they can deteriorate, or break down.

Observations

Saltwater and water caused the nail to corrode because of the water and oxygen. Nail polish, Magnesium, Calcium Chloride and Oil prevented the nail from rusting.

Acid Rain

What is acid rain?
Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it has elevated levels of hydrogen ions.

Causes of Acid Rain
When fossil fuels such as coals, oil and natural gas are burned, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfur dioxide escapes into the air. These can rise high into the atmosphere, they mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form acid rain.

Effects of acid rain.
The effects of acid rain are most prominently seen in the aquatic environment where it can be harmful to fish and other wildlife
