What is acid rain?
Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it has elevated levels of hydrogen ions.
Causes of Acid Rain
When fossil fuels such as coals, oil and natural gas are burned, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfur dioxide escapes into the air. These can rise high into the atmosphere, they mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form acid rain.
Effects of acid rain.
The effects of acid rain are most prominently seen in the aquatic environment where it can be harmful to fish and other wildlife
