Wonder



1. What was August's one wish that he wanted?


He wish that he would have a normal face that no one would ever notice at all. He wish that he could walk down the street without people seeing him and doing that look away thing.

2.What do you think it is to be ordinary?

Being ordinary means being the same as everyone else.

 What make August extraordinary?

He doesn't have the same face as everyone.

3. How do people react when they see Auggie's face for the first time?

Kids run away screaming in playground and he get stared starred wherever he go.

4. August's Dad said 'sending Auggie to school is like sending a lamb to a slaughter...' what does this mean?

It means that they are sending him off to a place where he won't be safe from other people's judgement anymore.

5. Would you send August to school if you were his mom/dad?

I would send him to school because that is how he would learn how to deal with people.

6. What white lie did August's mom tell? 
She said she was giving him an iq test but it was an entrance exam for the school.

 Why did she do it?

Because he probably wouldn't agree if he knew it was an entrance exam.

 Are white lies ok to tell?

Yes, but it is still lying.

7. August said he liked Ms.Garcia when she wasn’t wearing her shiny smile, what is a shiny smile?

A fake smile.

8. How does Auggie know the first time he meets Julian that he is a bully?

By Julian's behavior.

How did Julian bully Auggie?

He was teasing him and started the "plague".

How did Auggie respond?

He made his own group of friends which include Jack Will and Summer.
