Reflection
Things that I think went well from our market day is that we sold out all our product, we finish our business plan early, and we brought all the ingredients and materials that we need. There are also
things that I think didn't go as well as we wanted them to. The first thing is that we weren't able to cook some of the stuff. Some of the stuff wasn't cooked when the people started to come. Another thing that I think didn't go as well is that we ran out of bacon near the end and the cheese on the fries started to get hard. The things that I would do differently if we did it again are to cook the fries earlier. I would also maybe buy more of the ingredients needed. Another thing is to bring more containers and the number of things that we need to use to cook the food.

Ideal world
My ideal world would be a clean world and doesn't have any pollution. That's because a lot of people are getting sick because of it. One thing that I could do to help make this a reality is to reduce my use of things that can lead to pollution.

Aswang
Aswang is an evil shape-shifting spirit in Philippine mythology. This creature originated back in the 16th century. Aswang is one of the scariest myths. Aswang likes to dine on fetus and small children. There are different types of aswang such as vampire aswang (manananggal aswang), waredog, and witch. Surprisingly, aswang are able to feel emotions just like a normal person. During the day Aswangs still have some powers. Healing potions and casting spells are some of the powers that they have; they use them to help people in their town. Forced to hide their children, parents hide them before the sunset has finished. A person is able to turn into aswang if they chose to—you’re sick if you want that—by tying a fertilized chicken egg to their stomach. While women are sleeping, some of the aswang eat the baby inside her stomach. Aswang, one of the most famous Myths which came from the Philippines, has scared people for hundreds of years.

Maori and European Population changes in NZ.
1. What does the graph show us?
As the population of European people in New Zealand increased the population of Maori people decreased.
2. Why do you think the numbers of Maori change?
Because of the musket war that killed a lot of people and the new diseases that the European brought to New Zealand like STDs.
3. Why do you think the numbers of European changed?
I think it's because of the trading and some people found New Zealand a good place to live.

When I was a kid I woke up because there were people screaming on the road. When I was about to go to the
kitchen to get a drink, I saw a guy sitting there with a bloody hand. I ran back to my mums' room because I got
scared of him. Later on, I found out that that guy has just shot someone. I told my mum and my grandfather
about what I just saw and my grandfather told us to stay in our room just in case the guy is dangerous. We were
in our room for about an hour until the police came and they told us to get out of our house because the guy
there is armed.

Volcano
Mount Pinatubo
Mount Pinatubo is an active volcano located in Zambales Philippines. The height of the volcano before it erupted in 1991 is 1,745m and its current height is 1,485m. It erupted in 1991 after being dormant for 600 years. The volcano erupted again in 1992. The volcano erupted four times from June 12 to June 16, 1991, which released more than 20 million tons of debris into the stratosphere.
It killed 800 people and left around 50,000 people homeless. It affected around 215,00 acres of farmland and destroyed fishponds, river valleys, bridges, and villages. Volcanic ash silted river valleys, causing extensive flooding. The silting of river channels and trapping of rainwater in an area of 300 km2 that formed a lake called lake Pinatubo, now 10m deep. There are 500 structures permanently submerge under this lake including houses, churches, and schools. The 1991 eruptions are believed to be the major reason why temperatures dropped globally in 1993.

Exhibiton
What was the exhibition about?
It's about the things that we learnt about the topic of technology and change.
Which classes made displays?
10Bu and 10Hh
What did you make for the exhibition?
We made a poster explaining what the pantheon is.
One fun fact that I learnt from the exhibition was Ra is the god of sun. My favourite exhibition was about roman foods because the food was good.

Ancient Rome
Rome was a known power from arguably 509 BC to 1453 AD. We don'tknow exactly how Rome was founded, but the most prevalent myth is that Romulus and Remus. The history of Rome is split into four different segments. The first is the kingdom of Rome which lasted from 753 BC to 509 BC. The next is the roman republic from 509 BC to 27 BC and ended with the Senate's appointment of Julius Cesars son as an emperor. It was split in western and Eastern side in 285 AD. The western side is known and Western Roman but only lasted until 476 AD. The Eastern side is known as the Byzantine Empire lasted until 1453 AD.

What you spoke about?
My speech was about plastic bags and why I think they should ban them.
Something you are proud of?
I manage to do my speech in front of other people.
Were there any challenges?
Talking because I was nervous.
Would you do anything differently net time?
Laugh less so people can actually understand what I'm saying.

Hydaulics
The science behind hydraulics is called Pascal's principle. Pascal's principle basically means that any pressure that is applied to a fluid inside a closed system will transfer that pressure evenly in every direction thought the fluid. Because you cant compress the liquid in the pipe, the pressure needs to stay constant all the way through.

Ancient Egyptian Inventions
Ancient Egyptians began the use of makeup around 4000 B.C. It wasn't just the women who wore makeup. Both men and women used makeup and skin oils to protect their skins and to prevent body odour which is considered offensive to their gods and among them. The ancient Egyptians wore black eyeliner made from Galena. Galena is a lead-based mineral abundant in the desert. Soot was added to make kohl.

Persuasive Essay
Plastic Bags Should be Banned from supermarket/retail.
Do you want to live in a world full of pollution? I think that banning plastic bags from the supermarket/retail is a good idea because plastic bags pollute water and land. Another reason is that plastic bags are harmful to animals and that plastic never decompose.
Plastic bag pollutes water and land. You can see a lot of plastic bags tangled in trees, they also clog up gutters and drains that can cause sewage to overflow. An example of this is a river in the Philippines called the Pasig river. Some parts of it have been filled with so much plastic to the point that you can practically walk across it.
It's harmful to animals. Plastic bags are sometimes mistaken for food for some animals. Animals can also very easily get tangled by plastic or get caught by them sometimes. That causes them to be incapable of flying or eating; eventually, they will strangle and die.
Another reason to ban plastic bags is that they never decompose. Even after thousands of years plastic still does not decompose. Sometimes under the right condition plastic can break in smaller and smaller pieces called photodegrade, but it's not the same as decomposing.
In conclusion, plastic is bad. They cause pollution, they're harmful to animals, and they never decompose. There are better alternatives that we can use like recyclable bags or paper bags.
So yeah. SAVE THE TURTLES!

Children of Blood and Bone
Why do people choose to get revenge instead of forgiveness? In the book of Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, a memorable idea is revenge is an endless cycle. This idea is shown in chapter 80, chapter 70, and chapter 63.
An important idea from the book is that revenge is never the answer. This is shown in chapter 80 when Zelie realises that the blackest part of her rage finally has the power it’s always craved, the chance to avenge Mama. Now Baba. I’ll take these shadows of death and end them. Each and every one. No, Baba’s voice rings in her head, steady and strong. Revenge is meaningless. There’s still time to make this right. This made Zelie felt that she once again has let down her responsibility to protect her family members. This can be linked to the movie Avatar: The Last Air Bender when Aang said: “Now I know you understand how easy it is to hurt people you love.”
The same idea is also shown in chapter 75. When Zelie was to talking to Roën and said: “I could skin Saran alive and I still wouldn’t have my revenge.” I shrug off his hand. “It’s not about him. It’s not even about me. If I don’t stop him tomorrow, he’ll destroy my people like he destroyed me.” They both know that violence can be physically and emotionally weakening but she used her desire to get revenge as her motivation. But now her desire is to stop Saran from hurting others, rather than getting revenge specifically to those who have hurt her.
Another scene that fits in this topic is chapter 63. When Inan tells Zelie they had no choice and had to massacre the Maji. Inan says “I thought things could be different. I wanted them to be different. But after what we just saw, we have no choice. We can’t give people that kind of power.” “There’s always a choice” Zelie hiss. Revenge isn’t the only thing that you can do, there's always another choice.
An important idea is revenge is an endless cycle. I think that people choose to get revenge is because they think that it is their only choice. The last three paragraphs have shown us that revenge isn't your only choice. It showed that you can choose to forgive people despite of the bad that they have done.
How to Make a Digital Drill Gauge
In metal tech, we are given the task to make a digital Drill Gauge using tinkercad. I will be showing you how to make a drill gauge.
Ho to make the base. To create the base there are different shapes on the right side of your screen, click the shape that you want to use and put the size that you want.
Now that you have picked the shape that you want to use it should look like this.
Now that you have your base you want to put holes in it. To do that you have to pick the cylinder that looks like this.
Once you have done that, you have to put the cylinder on the base of your work and make them the size that you need. The size of the drill gauge that I made are 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.8, 8, and 10. It should look something like this.
To make the cylinders an actual hole you have to first highlight everything and after you have done that you have to group them together. The group button looks like this.
Once you've done that it should look like this.
If you want to add your mane in it just click on the one that says TEXT in it.
Once you have done that. There's a box on the side where you can type your mane in it.
If you want to add the size of the hole in it you just do the same thing that you did with your name.
If you want your name to become a hole you do the same thing as the cylinder. Click the one that says hole in it and group them together.
Once you'redone it should look like this.

Emperor Penguin
Emperor penguins inhabit only Antarctica. They are flightless birds that spend the majority of their lives in the ocean.
They are the largest penguin in Antarctica. Adult Emperor penguin is about 1.1 - 1.3 m tall and weight from 22 to 45kg. They have a blackish-blue body with white chest and belly. Diving deeper than any bird; often they can reach 213 - 550m underwater and can hold their breaths for up to 22 minutes.
Their diet consists of fish, squid, shrimp, crab and lobster. Their mouths have lines of spines that point down their throats. This helps the food stay in their mouth when they catch food. This is extremely helpful when they catch small foods. They often catch the prey under ice floes.
Emperor Penguins are very social animals, living and feeding in large groups. They create small colonies on pack ice along the coast of Antarctica. Emperor Penguins remain with one mate during the breeding season, most of the time they don't pair with the same mate again in the next season. Their breeding cycle begins in autumn and continues throughout winter which makes them the only penguin in Antarctica that breed during the winter. Female lays one egg and pass it to the male. The egg stays with the male until the chick hatches.

Corrosion
What are you investigating?
To investigate the factors that cause rust in iron
What do you think will happen?
I think that the nail with the nail polish, calcium chloride and oil will prevent corrosion. I think that the Saltwater, water and magnesium will cause corrosion.
What is corrosion?
When metals are exposed to the environment they can deteriorate, or break down.
Observations
Saltwater and water caused the nail to corrode because of the water and oxygen. Nail polish, Magnesium, Calcium Chloride and Oil prevented the nail from rusting.

Acid Rain
What is acid rain?
Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it has elevated levels of hydrogen ions.
Causes of Acid Rain
When fossil fuels such as coals, oil and natural gas are burned, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfur dioxide escapes into the air. These can rise high into the atmosphere, they mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form acid rain.
Effects of acid rain.
The effects of acid rain are most prominently seen in the aquatic environment where it can be harmful to fish and other wildlife

Metal Drill Gauge
What is a drill gauge?
Drill gauge is used to measure the different size of drill bits.
This is a commercial drill gauge it has 25 holes in it with the size of the hole beside it.
The tools that we focused on learning to use are Vernier Caliper and Micrometer.
Vernier Caliper
Vernier calliper is an extremely precise measuring instrument; the reading error is 1/20 mm = 0.05 mm.

- The Vernier calliper is an extremely precise measuring instrument; the reading error is 1/20 mm = 0.05 mm.
- Close the jaws lightly on the object to be measured.
- If you are measuring something with a round cross-section, make sure that the axis of the object is perpendicular to the calliper. This is necessary to ensure that you are measuring the full diameter and not merely a chord.
- Use the bottom scale, which is in metric units.
- Notice that there is a fixed scale and a sliding scale.
- The boldface numbers on the fixed scale are centimetres.
- The tick marks on the fixed scale between the boldface numbers are millimetres.
- There are ten tick marks on the sliding scale. The left-most tick mark on the sliding scale will let you read from the fixed scale the number of whole millimetres that the jaws are opened.
Micrometre
How to measure using a Micrometre
Video
It's a device incorporating a calibrated screw widely used for accurate measurement. It operates by measuring the space between a hard stop (anvil) and a movable surface (spindle). When a thimble is turned it drives the spindle closer or farther away from the anvil. To take a measurement an object is placed between the anvil and the spindle and the thimble is spun until the object is gently pinched between the two faces. After the object is pinched the scale is read and a decimal measurement is derived. Once the object is secured in the clamp, you use the numbering system on the thimble which is the handle portion of the micrometre known as the sleeve.

Things that I've learnt in science
Chemical Change Versus Physical Change
A chemical change occurs when a new substance is formed. Physical change is not a permanent change. You can easily get the material that you started with.
Signs of Chemical Change:
A chemical change occurs when a new substance is formed. Physical change is not a permanent change. You can easily get the material that you started with.
Signs of Chemical Change:
- Gas has been given off.
- There is a colour change.
- There is a different smell.
- There is heat given out or absorbed.
- The change cannot easily reverse.
Signs of Physical Change:
- The substance changes state.
- The change can easily be reversed.
- No new substance is formed.
- The mass of the object is the same at the end of the change.
Atoms
Atoms are the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist. Everything is made of atoms. Atoms are made up of 3 main types of particles: Electrons, Protons, and Neutrons.
Electrons are the tiny particles that have a negative electrical charge.
Protons are much larger and heavier than electrons and have the opposite charge. They have a positive charge.
Neutrons are large and have a similar mass to protons. Neutrons have no electrical charge.

Weather and Climate
The hottest place on Earth is Death Valley, California. Death Valley's Badwater Basin is the point of the lowest elevation in North America, at 282 feet below sea level. The hottest air temperature recorded in Death Valley was 56.7 °C. The park is home animals such as coyotes, bighorn sheep, gophers, kangaroo rats fox and badgers. Bighorn sheep are able to go without water for days and Kangaroo rats don't need to drink water their entire life. They can survive on water digested from their seedy, vegetarian diet.
The coldest place on Earth is Vostok Station, Antarctica. The lowest natural temperature ever recorded on ground level is -89.2°C. The only "settlements" with long term residents (who stay for some months or a year, maybe two) are scientific bases. They typically have 50 people there during summer and about 15-20 people during winter.
